ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak Testers For Automotive Headlamps and Light Testing Applications.

There are many types of automotive and truck lights that require leak testing such as headlights, tail lights, LED lights, fog lights, signal lights, trailer lights, and car bulbs. It is essential to keep all debris and condensation out of these lights to keep them working efficiently and safely.

Depending on the type of light and its components, different methods leak testing may be used. The bulbs within the final assembly can be individually leak tested to ensure they are air-tight along with the enclosures they are built into. If the enclosures that contain the bulbs have an opening to be pressurized, a differential pressure decay test can be performed. This test uses a test and reference part, pressurizes the part through the opening then the leak tester looks for a drop in pressure in the test part.

Often with the final assembled automotive lights, there are no openings to pressurize for a leak test to reduce the chance for moisture getting into the light. If this is the case and the final part is hermetically sealed, a sealed component ingress leak test can be used. This test requires putting the part into a custom chamber which is pressurized then the leak tester looks for a drop in chamber pressure which signifies a leak into the part.

ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different automotive leak testing applications for well known OEM manufacturers over the last 40 years.  Whether you are leak testing headlamps, tail lights, catheters, pacemakers, or a smartphone, ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak testers and develop integrated light production testing solutions.
