Were you looking for any specific features in ATEQ solutions?

“Effectiveness at performing a leak test on our products, lead time of obtaining machine, and in-line cycle time.”

What challenges were you facing before working with ATEQ?

“Prior to using ATEQ leak testing machines, we relied on manual leak testing by our production facility’s operators, which was highly subjective and incurred a very long cycle time. It was also difficult to accurately identify product that was actually leaking, as this depended on operator memory (to remember the initial pressure of each dispensing top), so we had a very high rate of false negatives in our original leak testing process, i.e. product that was falsely identified as being conforming but were actually leaking. Additionally, components provided by suppliers were difficult to properly evaluate without a precise leak testing instrument, and thus improvements to the design of our tops to decrease the rate of leak defects always took a very long time..”

Integration & Usage

How was the integration of ATEQ products into your existing systems?

“Integration of ATEQ machines into our existing QC testing line was very easy. We had our new ATEQ machine up and running in less than 1 business day. Once we had set up the compressed air lines and desired leak tests and had obtained a large number of spare quick connect ports, setting up subsequent ATEQ machines took less than 1 hour.”

Can you briefly describe how you currently use ATEQ products in your daily operations?

“We use ATEQ F620 leak testing machines to perform leak quality control testing on our R-1234yf DIY Kit cans. This is a part of our final assembly line, and since we QC check 100% of our product before it is shipped out the door, having a low cycle time on our F620 leak tester is a huge plus to working with ATEQ.”

What improvements have you noticed since using ATEQ products?

“Our average production line throughput per shift has more than doubled, which has improved our ability to meet orders and build inventory. In addition, testing our product has become both more rapid and more precise, allowing us to quickly identify problems with suppliers and to evaluate new suppliers for components in our product. Our suppliers, who lack ATEQ leak testing machines and instead use more traditional leak test methods (aging the can and watching pressure, and hydro testing), take weeks to identify problems with their parts – by contrast, with our F620 leak tester, we perform experiments and rapidly identify root causes of defects within 1-2 business days.”
