Founded in 1989 in the picturesque state of Maine, ATEQ USA embarked on a mission to revolutionize leak detection and testing solutions. The visionary behind this initiative was Luc Heliot. Under his guidance, ATEQ USA quickly gained recognition for its cutting-edge technology and reliable services.
Recognizing the burgeoning opportunities in the automotive industry, the company made a strategic move in 1999 to relocate its operations to Michigan. This decision was fueled by the desire to be closer to the heart of American car manufacturing, thereby facilitating better partnerships and collaborations.
Luc Heliot, the founding father of ATEQ USA, remains a shareholder of the company, ensuring that his vision and values continue to guide its operations. Over the years, ATEQ has expanded its reach to serve various industries, including medical, technology, and e-mobility, but its core commitment to quality and innovation remains unchanged.
Today, ATEQ USA stands as a leader in testing solutions, a testament to the foresight of its founders and the relentless pursuit of excellence by its team. The company’s journey from a small startup in Maine to an industry leader in Michigan is a remarkable story of vision, resilience, and strategic evolution.

Cobra Systems, based in Chicago, specialized in manufacturing test adapters and kits for aircraft before being acquired by ATEQ Aviation. This acquisition, which took place in May 2018, facilitated a broader range of pitot-static testing solutions as Cobra Systems was the sole American manufacturer of Pitot Static adapters, known for their high-quality materials. The merger aimed to enhance the global outreach and product lines of both companies, with ATEQ moving its Aviation Sales and Service Department to merge with Cobra Systems near Chicago.
