ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak Testers For Bottle and Cap Testing Applications.
No one likes a leaking plastic bottle. The integrity of the plastic can become compromised during the production process and it is important to make sure the bottle is properly leak tested. It is also important to make sure the cap does not leak. A plastic bottle would typically be tested by pressurizing the bottle and looking for a drop in pressure. The plastic cap can be quickly tested using ionization technology to see if the electrical current is able to find any weak spots within the plastic surface.
ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different plastic bottle leak testing applications for well known packaging companies over the last 40 years. ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak testers for bottles and caps to develop integrated bottle production testing solutions.
An example of specifications for leak testing a plastic bottle would be to use a pressure decay tester like the Primus F620 or or the Ioniq electrical leak testing instruments. If using a pressure decay instrument, the pressure testing specification could be around 2.0 psi with a leak rate ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 cc/min over a test time of 0.1 to 10 seconds. If using the Ioniq electrical leak tester, you would be looking for a 100% insulation reading across the surface of the plastic bottle or bottle cap.
