ATEQ Leak Testing Solutions for Cosmetic Packaging

cosmetic packaging leak testWhile the list is nearly endless, there are some specific containers most commonly used in the cosmetic packaging industry including

    • Perfume Bottles
    • Plastic Tubes
    • Dispensers, Pumps and Sprayers
    • Plastic Jars
    • Plastic Bottles
    • Caps
    • Deodorant Sticks
    • Makeup packaging: lipstick, foundation, mascara, eye liner

It is important that cosmetic packaging does not leak because if air or moisture gets into the packaging, the contents may become compromised. Dried up makeup becomes unusable and could get contaminated with bacteria.

If the packaging material is rigid, a standard or differential pressure decay leak tester can be used to perform a leak test in the packaging by pressurizing the package opening and looking for a drop in pressure. The caps to the packaging can also be leak tested to make sure there are no manufacturing decays that could cause a leak. ATEQ’s Ioniq electrical leak tester is a good option for testing plastics caps quickly. If a final assembly leak test is needed to test the cosmetic container with the cap on, an indirect leak test can be used to leak test the sealed package into a chamber.

ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different packaging leak testing applications for well known manufacturers over the last 50 years. Whether you are leak testing a bottle of foundation, a tube of mascara, a bottle of perfume, pacemaker, or a washing machine, ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak and flow testers and develop integrated packaging production leak and flow testing solutions.
