ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak Testers For Automotive Gearbox Leak Testing Applications.
The gearbox is the second stage in the transmission system, after the clutch . It is usually bolted to the rear of the engine , with the clutch between them. The mechanical gearbox component is protected by a housing that is a complex piece of casting generally made of aluminum. This housing is a fluid-tight container that holds the gear lubricant in and keeps dirt out away from the gears in the gearbox so they can continue to function efficiently.
Leak testing gear housing is necessary to make sure there are no manufacturing defects that could cause the lubricant to leak out of the gearbox. An ATEQ F series differential pressure decay instrument can be used to perform a direct leak test the gear housing. Since there are openings around the gearbox housing, all exception one opening would have to be capped or blocked off in order to hold the air in when the ATEQ leak tester pressurizes the test part (and also a reference part if differential pressure decay testing is used). An ATEQ F series instrument, combined with a customized fixture, could automate this leak testing process into a production line.
ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different automotive leak testing applications for well known OEM manufacturers over the last 40 years. Whether you are leak testing vehicle die cast gearbox housings, cylinders, full engines, EV battery packs, catheters, pacemakers, or a smartphone, ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak testers and develop integrated cylinder production leak and flow testing solutions.
