ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak Testers For Refrigerator Leak Testing Applications.
There are many components in refrigerators that require leak testing. The main components of a fridge are the compressor, condenser, evaporator, capillary tube and the thermostat. All of these components work together to transfer heat from the outside to the inside by causing the refrigerant circulating inside them to change from a liquid into a gas. Because these components need to contain liquids and gas, these refrigerator components require leak or flow testing.
The compressor circulates the refrigerant throughout the system and adds pressure to the warm part of the circuit, and makes the refrigerant hot. The condenser sits on the back of a refrigerator, and it cools down and condenses, meaning it turns from a gas back into a liquid. The evaporator inside a refrigerator turns the refrigerant from a liquid into a gas through evaporation, which cools the the area around it. The liquid refrigerant is routed through the capillary tube and sprayed into the low-pressure environment of the evaporator. The thermostat controls the cooling process by monitoring the temperature and then switching the compressor on and off. Each of these refrigerator components should be leak or flow tested during production to make sure they only allow the specified amount of refrigerant flow through at a given time and that there are no manufacturing defects causing leaks in the components.
It is also possible to leak test the final assembly of a refrigerator using a tracer gas leaker, like ATEQ’s H6000, to sniff if any unwanted gas is emitted from the fridge which would represent a leak.
ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different appliance leak testing applications for well known manufacturers over the last 40 years. Whether you are leak testing refrigerator compressors, evaporators, thermostats, headphones, smartphones, watches, catheters, pacemakers, or a washing machine, ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak and flow testers and develop integrated refrigerator production leak and flow testing solutions.
