ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak Testers For Sensor Leak Testing Applications.

In today’s world of technology, sensors are everywhere. Sensors are electronic devices that ease our everyday activities by detecting, converting and transmitting signals to provide a specified output in our cars, homes, offices, appliances, security systems etc.

The following is a list of different types of sensors that are commonly used in various applications. All these sensors are used for measuring one of the physical properties like Temperature, Resistance, Capacitance, Conduction, Heat Transfer etc. These sensors can be in vehicles, appliances, consumer electronics, medical devices and more.

  • Temperature Sensor
  • Proximity Sensor
  • Accelerometer
  • IR Sensor (Infrared Sensor)
  • Pressure Sensor
  • Light Sensor
  • Ultrasonic Sensor
  • Smoke, Gas and Alcohol Sensor
  • Touch Sensor
  • Color Sensor
  • Humidity Sensor
  • Tilt Sensor
  • Flow and Level Sensor

In cars alone, there are many types of sensors.

  • Mass airflow sensor
  • Engine Speed Sensor
  • Oxygen Sensors
  • Spark Knock Sensor
  • Coolant Sensor
  • Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAF) Sensor
  • Fuel Temperature Sensors
  • Voltage sensor
  • Camshaft Position Sensor
  • Throttle Position Sensor
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor

Devices that are exposed to the elements, like sensors, are always at risk of malfunction due to water exposure, but waterproofing the device can improve the confidence of the product’s reliability no matter what product the sensor is used in. In order to be waterproof, a device has to be leak tested. If a leak rate is below the manufacturer-specified leak rate the sensor can be considered airtight enough to be classified as being “waterproof”.
