What Is the Early Decision Tool?
The Early Decision Tool is a software feature built into select ATEQ leak testers (including the F620 and F670 models). By monitoring real-time pressure data from the beginning of the cycle, the system determines whether a part passes or fails—before the full test is completed.
- With multiple micro-test sequences (Pr1, Pr2, Pr3…), EDT can:
- Instantly reject leaking parts (FAIL)
- Approve good parts early (PASS)
- Continue testing only when necessary
This intelligent system reduces total cycle time by up to 50% and improves overall line efficiency without compromising detection sensitivity.
How It Works
The tool enters a learning mode where it records data from thousands of parts to create performance benchmarks. In production mode, it uses this data to make decisions at each sub-stage (Pr1–Pr5). If the result falls in a safe zone (green), the part is accepted immediately. If not, the cycle continues until enough certainty is reached.
This predictive approach not only boosts test speed but also adds an extra layer of quality assurance through conformity parameters that account for variables like temperature shifts or external airflow.
