ATEQ is Available to Provide Consulting and Leak and Flow Testers For Cooling System Leak Testing Applications.
Cooling systems are an important component in several industries, like automotive, electronics and appliances. Cooling circuits are a series of channels that circulate water or other coolant to carry away excessive heat. Liquid cooling systems are often used in electronics, like laptops or data servers, to make sure the device doesn’t overheat and malfunction. In appliances, like a refrigerator, the cooling system uses cooling coils filled filled gas refrigerant that turns to liquid to soak up heat and cool the fridge and freezer.
Almost all vehicles used liquid cooling systems for their engines. Almost all typical automotive cooling systems are comprised of a series of channels cast into the engine block and cylinder head, surrounding the combustion chambers with circulating water or other coolant to carry away excessive heat.
A cooling system is made up of:
- passages inside the engine block and heads
- a water pump to circulate the coolant
- a thermostat to control the temperature of the coolant
- a radiator to cool the coolant
- a radiator cap to control the pressure in the system
- interconnecting hoses to transfer the coolant from engine to radiator (and also to the car’s heater system where hot coolant is used to warm up the vehicle’s interior)
No matter what industry a cooling circuit is used it, it is important to leak test the components of a cooling system. A properly functioning cooling system should not have any manufacturing defects, like welding cracks or loose connection points, that cause the fluid to leak out of the channels. Besides leaks, it is also important to make sure the liquid or gas in the cooling circuit channels flows within the specified leak rate and pressure ranges that is deemed to be safe and efficient and that there are no blockages within the circuit.
ATEQ has developed solutions for hundreds of different cooling system leak testing applications for well known manufacturers over the last 40 years. Whether you are leak testing automotive cooling circuits, radiators, laptop liquid cooling pads, refrigerator coils, pacemakers or packaging, ATEQ can work with you to provide efficient leak testers and develop integrated cooling circuit production leak and flow testing solutions.
