Leak Testing Large Flexible Parts Using ATEQ’s New DNC Technology
ATEQ’s New DNC Technology: Leak Testing Large Flexible Parts When leak testing a large, flexible component in a 'noisy' factory environment, use ATEQ's new Differential Noise Canceling (DNC) leak testing technology to produce faster, more accurate leak readings that are not influenced by fluctuating background disturbances. A factory is “noisy” and full of fluctuations which can affect a leak reading and cause the leak tester to incorrectly pass or fail a part. Factory Disturbances: Temperature Variations: Opening Doors or Windows, Fans, HVAC SystemsPressure Variations: Time of Day, Weather, Sound LevelVibrations: Machine Movement, Wind, Forklifts, Music An EV battery housing is a great application for ATEQ’s new DNC leak testing technology since it is a large, flexible component that is easily affected by variations in background noise. ATEQ’s DNC function provides a more stable leak reading by compensating for background disturbances so they don’t influence the leak sensor. By using ATEQ’s F620 Large Volume Differential [...]

ATEQ EVB 5100: Efficient EV Battery Module Balancer for Production
Introducing the ATEQ EVB 5100: High-Precision Battery Module Balancer for EV & HEV Production ATEQ introduces its new EV/HEV battery module balancer, the EVB 5100. The unit is ideal for rework stations in battery manufacturing or electric vehicle production plants. The EVB 5100 uses the most efficient and precise technologies to equalize voltage differences between modules to maximize battery performance. Automotive assembly plants cannot just assume the batteries they put in their electric vehicles are perfect. If electric vehicle batteries are underperforming, it is likely due to electric cell imbalance. Slight differences in the modules’ capacity, temperature, state of charge, self-discharge rate and impedance can lead to a deviation in voltage. When an EV battery is diagnosed as being defective on the production line, the faulty module needs to be replaced. The EVB5100 Module Balancer charges or discharges the new replacement module to the same state of charge as the other modules. Performing the [...]
Monthly Leak Testing Training
Monthly Leak Testing Training with ATEQ ExpertsATEQ will be hosting monthly one-day Introduction to Leak Testing training sessions. The class is open to anyone and is geared towards engineers in the manufacturing industry who want to learn more about leak testing. Classes will also be offered at ATEQ's other locations in Livonia, MI, Arlington, IL, Los Angeles, CA, Ronkonkoma, NY and Chattanooga, TN.The course will be taught by engineers with more than 20 years of experience in industrial leak testing. Students will start by learning about the history of leak testing leading up to the physics principles of the latest leak testing methods and the process of integrating leak testing into the production line. The small class size will allow students to be able to actively engage with the instructor’s presentation and ask specific questions regarding their company’s manufactured components that require leak testing. Students will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. The class [...]

Do I need Leak Testing?
Why Should I Use Leak Testing? There are several steps to evaluate before selecting a leak testing instrument. When a Quality Engineer is tasked with determining a new component’s specifications, production process, and testing procedures, he or she should first consider the costs and benefits of leak testing to determine if it is necessary for the test part. If the part is a disposable plastic straw, it may not be worth taking the time and money to test for a crack in each drinking straw. If a consumer gets a broken straw from a package, they’ll probably just throw it away and get a new usable straw without batting an eye. The only consequences being a slight inconvenience and minor customer dissatisfaction. However, if a company is manufacturing a medical pacemaker device, the consequences of a device that is not properly leak tested could be lethal. If leak testing is determined to be necessary for [...]
